I started painting with oils, but discovered pastels in 1978. I really liked the Nu Pastels and Rembrandt pastels and used Canson paper for the ground. I studied with Daniel Greene and began to concentrate on portraiture. I took a few workshops with other artists: Harley Brown at Scottsdale Artists School, Albert Handell in Santa Fe, Paul Leveille in Michigan and Michael Del Priore in N.C.

I tried to apply the principles that I was taught  and learn to see!

I began painting portrait commissions in both oil and pastel and have done so for many years.
